The Art of Self Love

The Art of Self Love: A new 5-week course to nurture your creativity, confidence and soul!
The Art of Self Love is a new 5-week course exploring self-portraiture and how it can be a powerful tool for self-reflection, self-discovery and self-care.
Throughout 5 x Saturday workshops in February 2020, we’ll look at different forms and approaches to self-portraiture in order to develop a deeper understanding of how it can be used to build our self-confidence and mental strength.
The course will culminate with an exhibition of participants’ work at Chats Palace in March, when you’ll be invited (but not forced!) to attend and speak about your experience on the opening night (Friday 13th March)
Whilst the focus of your work will be on you, the workshops will also provide an opportunity to connect with others and build your social network as part of a creative project and community. This is a chance to explore your creativity and work through your blocks in a friendly and informal environment: completing a series of playful creative challenges and developing your confidence along the way.
Dates: Sessions will be held on Saturday 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th February: 10.30am – 4.30pm with a break for lunch. You will need to commit to the full 5 sessions, though if you’re unable to 1 then we will still consider your application.
Who can apply: This course is offered to support anyone aged 18+ who is struggling with anxiety, depression and other mental health challenges. The workshops will be informal and social experiences that are designed to be a creative supplement to professional services.
Exercises and activities will suitable for all levels – no drawing skills required! The focus will be on personal (not artistic) development and drawing as a form of mindfulness and creative play.
Participation is FREE – spaces are limited so apply asap!
Applications close on Wednesday 22nd January and you can find more information here: https://www.sketchappeal.co.uk/the-art-of-self-love.
