Robb Johnson: Pandemic Songs

A Journal of the Plague Year/s

Robb Johnson is one of the UK’s finest folk singers/songwriters: “An English original”, (Robin Denselow, the Guardian) a “renowned folk-punk” (Time Out). His remarkable song suite Ordinary Giants, told the story of his father’s life and times with contributions from over 30 performers, including award-winning Jazz legend Claire Martin, Justin Sullivan from New Model Army, Tom Robinson, and TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady. Now aged 65yrs, Hackney-born Robb has been called one of England’s last genuinely political songwriters – our commission invite him to turn his satirical eye on our England in pandemic times.
